This is our new friend Carmine. We are soooo happy to have him with us. He is so smart and nice. He is 2 1/2 and has a birthday a few weeks after Evan and one day before Carly Sue's. How fun is that??? He has a great sense of humor and has really clicked with Evan and Carly Sue. He likes Monster Trucks and Dinosaurs. He also likes going to the park. We had so much fun showing him some of the places we like to walk to and sharing our new books from the library.
Here is Carmine checking out Shawnee Park. I said, "Say cheese, Carmine" and he said, "Cheese and crackers!". That of course made Evan and Carly Sue crack up.
Evan and Carmine spent quite a while working on the ABC puzzle and then the number puzzle. It is like they have been friends forever.
It doesn't get any better than swimming with new friends.
Carly Sue and Evan showed Carmine a few of the roads//tunnels that they lie to build. He seemed to like them.
Of course Carly Sue wanted to add the red blocks!
Evan is following the red brick road!
Carmine spotted the fish and suggested we get out the sensory tubs.
He liked the fish and recognized several of the sea animals. He also didn't hesitate to share, which was so nice. Evan showed him how to use the measuring cups and the funnels with the water.
On his first day there was too much to do instead of take a nap. While Evan and Carly Sue slept, Carmine played quietly with Play Dough (and Monster Trucks).
After Evan and Carly Sue woke up, they told Carmine how fun it had been to paint dinosaur tracks and compare the size of their foot prints. We are still investigating Big and Little and they wanted Carmine to check it out, too. So we made more dinosaur tracks with paint.
Evan brought something so special and really cool to school today. He brought a real guitar. While we waited for Carmine to come this morning, Evan showed Carly Sue how to strum. He played music and we sang a few songs. Thanks soooo much Evan for sharing something so special.
Evan thought we should show Carmine one of the other parks we like, Playtime. This has a digger and a motor cycle that Carmine seemed to enjoy.
This picture is so cute.
I think Carmine is enjoying the swings, too!
